A NEW TWIST ON THE OLD JAZZ STANDARDS
Indulging in a longtime love of jazz, songwriter Laura Kemp has joined forces with bassist Sean Peterson to form The Liaisons. The duo plays an eclectic mix of jazz standards with Laura on guitar and vocals and Sean on upright bass and vocals. For larger venues, they add saxophone /flute player extraordinaire, Paul Biondi into the mix or trumpet player, Tony Glausi. Over the past 4 years, The Liaisons have performed at wineries, weddings, private parties, benefits, restaurants, the Jazz Station, and Eugene's Holiday/Saturday markets. They play a variety of songs from the American Songbook, such as All the Things You Are, It's Only a Paper Moon, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, But Not for Me, and Cheek to Cheek. Their take on the old standards is truly unique and entertaining!
Their debut CD was released in the fall of 2016. Recorded by Billy Barnett at Eugene's Gung Ho Studio, it features Paul Biondi on sax and flute and Tony Glausi on trumpet!
